30 Before 30
As you can see on my tabs, I have written a list of 30 things I want to do before I turn 30(May 2012). One of the things on my list is to read 1 new book a month - so I need help. Thats about 18 books. I want to know what books you like. I will put them in a list and see how far I can get (that is, of course, if they look interesting to me!!). I like to read mysteries, love stories, biblical stories, inspiring stories - I have even been known to read a sci-fi book or two. Pretty much I just love to read. So, can you help a girl out?

The Help - it's long but SUCH a good book! I also love Shop-a-holic books for a fun, beachy-read type of mood. Sometimes, I just go to the library and literally judge the book by it's cover and have come up with some really fun, but non-typical for me - books.

I love Gene Stratton-Porter's books. I've only read Freckles, A Girl of the Limberlost, and Laddie so far, but I want to read more of her books. The three above are love stories- Freckles is my favorite.
I also love P.G Wodehouse books. He wrote these English comedies that are simply hilarious- his Jeeves books are especially good; they are about this young gentleman who is constantly getting into scrapes (often involving love) which his valet, Jeeves, has to help him out with. Mom enjoys these too.
Then, To Have and To Hold by Mary Johnston is one of my favorites- it's a long book and it was written a couple hundred years ago, so it's a little harder to get through, but oh so good!
Then, if you like murder mysteries, I recommend Dorothy Sayer's Sir Peter Wimsey mysteries. I don't really like murder mysteries as a rule, but these are really good- not gory, but very well written.
Then... you've probably read The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom, but if you haven't, that's a good one. And I know she's written at least one more book- Tramp for the Lord- which I haven't read yet but am planning too.
I'm just starting the book, Crazy Love, by Francis Chan. So far, so good... I've heard it's really, really, good.
L.M Montgomery wrote other books beside the Anne series- including several compilations of short stories.
I finished reading Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities and enjoyed it very much. I did it for school and it seemed like half the class at least did not enjoy it, however, but if you like Charles Dickens then you'll probably enjoy it.
Jules Verne wrote some good books. I've only read two (Around the World in 80 Days; and the ___ leagues under the sea one.) I definitely recommend Around the World; it's not too long and really interesting. I love, love, love it. The other one is good too, it just gets a little hard to get through.
I really enjoy Ralph Moody's books; he wrote a series about his boyhood growing up. The first book in that series is Little Britches, telling about how his family moved to Colorado and tried to scrape a living out there.
I could probably come up with more, but this is probably good for now. :) Let me know if you end up reading any of them!
How could I forget? Sometime in your life you should definitely try to read the Lord of the Rings books. They are long. They are quite long. But they are sooo worth reading. I think they are better than the movies, and that's saying a lot!
So you are 29 this year? You will need over a year to do this list!
Hello! Harry Potter! That's 7 of 18 right there and all quick reads.
I'm reading The Nanny Diaries right now...funny and a little annoying sometimes.
Elizabeth Gaskell's books are always a good decision too, North and South, especially.
