This weekend...

This weekend was all about KayLynn and Momma. Lately KayLynn has been learning so fast and trying to do so much that it has been hard to have fun as well as discipline. She wants to do everything for herself and when she can't or I wont let her... lots of teaching moments.

I was getting so tired of coming home and getting after her all evening till bed time. So this weekend I decided to spend every minute with her having fun. We took walks, played games, sang songs, danced (and danced, and danced!) and cuddled. We played with my big fuzzy robe and we played with the pillows in the living room! For this weekend we had more fun and less discipline. She was so caught up in playing with me that we had much less drama.

I could have filled the washer with dirty clothes or the dryer with wet clean clothes. I could have filled the dressers with dry clean clothes. I could have filled the sink with dirty dishes and the drying rack with clean ones. I could have filled the shelves with toys and books. Instead, I filled a little girls heart with love. My little girl.

This weekend gave me a glimps of my daughters heart. She doesn't need lots of toys, or to have her own way. She needs her momma.

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.
*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.
*Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.
*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.
*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.
*Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.
*Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

Something New Everyday

When in our home these days you will be greated by the following: Hi. Buddy. Mamamama (when said over and over it means more or again). Mimi (Grandma Shari) Dada (often while being handed the phone - she wants to talk to Daddy). Whats this? Zsa Zsa. Ready? Dancing - KayLynn sways her hips back and forth when any music plays. Pretty Fish. One, Two, Three (no real consonants, but definately the pitch and enthusiasm)! Weee. Beider (dogs name). Really? Yeah.

My little "sparkle-eyes" loves to look at pictures of herself and mom and dad, but her favorite pass-time is dancing. She walks in the kitchen, points to the radio and says, "hmm?" We are not sure what this particular sounds means - but we have dubbed it, "please". We turn the radio on and she rocks those little hips of hers. As soon as I figure out how to post a video, I'll share!

I hate technology...

Or rather, the lack of it.

My computer freaked.

"freaked"
adj.
Highly unusual or irregular (But of course, this is not irregular!)
1. To experience or cause to experience frightening hallucinations or feelings of paranoia, especially as a result of taking a drug. Often used with out.
2. To behave or cause to behave irrationally and uncontrollably.

Yes, my computer behaved uncontrollably. My videos are gone. What videos, you may ask. Every video ever taken of KayLynn thus far in her short life. It is not as much of a loss due to our blog, but sad none-the-less. We also lost all the promised pictures (actually every picture taken in the last five weeks!). I am trying to look at this in a positive light. At least we still have the original subject (KayLynn) of the photos and now when we have a second child he/she won't feel so un-loved when we have less pictures of him/her!

Anyway, we will be making up for the lack of recent pictures today in the fall leaves - after I get off work.

Anyone need size 3 diapers?

We got the wrong size diapers on accident and realized it too late. So, we have an opened (but very few diapers used) package of size 3 diapers if you are interested. If no one is, I will probably just put them in the nursery at church...let me know!

Favorite mommy moment so far...

Last night, as KayLynn played in the living room, Max and I sat on the couches. I was reading and Max was looking at something on the internet. KayLynn disappeared for a second and came back with Pooh in one hand and a book ("Mother" from Dick and Jane). She put both items on the couch next to me and then pulled herself into my lap. She then grabbed both and started to read to me. As I kissed the curls and helped her read it (reading is an interactive sport, you know!) I was again aware of how moments like these make mommyhood the best job in the whole world, I mean - who could resist that?

Previously that evening, we had made pillow mazes and forts out of dining room chairs, table cloths and pillows. I learned this talent from my Grandma Kay, and was sure that it was time to show KayLynn. She loved it. Pictures to follow soon.

We also took pictures of She-lob (pronounced exactly as it is spelled). She-lob is Max's enourmous pet spider. She is out on the front porch and Max is saving her for Halloween. Her web keeps getting bigger and bigger and I am pretty sure that she is going to catch me one morning on my way out to the car. Pictures of her coming soon!

For all of you who knew that I got my wisdom teeth out and were praying for me - Thanks! We went to the doc yesterday because of the pain - and he gave me another prescription. Let me just say, I love vicodin, and (for better of worse) I am myself once again.

Also to follow in the next post will be KayLynn's list of "NEWS".

KayLynn and I got to spend a few hours with Tristan. We had so much fun and KayLynn just had to show him everything, and walked around saying, "Tistan..Tistan!" I am so thankful for my small little house. Once we shut all the doors, they can run around and there is nothing to break or make me worry. Tristan took his first un-assisted steps from the book shelf to the kitchen in KayLynn's room. A fact, which made Kaeley sad for missing, but she got to see his amazing feat at the picture place later that afternoon! It must be retribution since I missed KayLynn's first steps.

When Kaeley, the kids and I got home from pictures (where the lady thought that K and I were a couple and blessed with our two children!) Max went out and got us dinner. Brie, Pate, 3 kinds of salumi, bread and wine! Oh yes we are spoiled...

The pictures are the fruits of our labor and a look into the fun we had. KayLynn are looking forward to the next time we get to have Tristan over.
