I'm no idiot

When I was eight years old I went to get my ears pierced.  I let them do the first one and then declared that one was fine.  It hurt and I wasn't gonna do that again.  My mom had to make me do the second one, and I am glad that she did.

When I was eleven years old I steped on a broken beer bottle and had to get lots of stitches.  While they were cleaning my foot, I declared that I did not need it.  My foot, that is.  I told them to just cut it off because it hurt.  Once again my mom convinced me that I would really desire that foot later on in life, and I am glad.

When I was twenty-eight years old (yesterday) I had gum surgery on one side of my mouth.  It hurt.  I have decided that I don't need to do the other side.  I need my mom to convince me that I really don't want to lose half my teeth and it will be worth it to go through this again.

I figured I would share the good, the bad and the funny (there is some ugly - but you don't want to see the swelling!) of my gum surgery with you - don't worry, no pictures!

The Good:
1.  I have a fear of eating anything, so I will probably lose some weight.

The Bad:
1.  I have a fear of eating, so I am starving and I really should get more protein - last night I actually added an egg to my mashed potatos for protein.
2.  I can't exercise (except taking walks they said) for "several days"
3.  Did I mention that I am starving?

The Funny:
1.  You should hear me talk
2.  My jaw and tongue hurt so bad that I can't tell if where the actual trauma was hurts.  i am sure that once my tongue and jaw stop hurting, I will know.

I thought that the worst was over when they put in the stitches, or when the numbness wore off, but I was wrong.  When I brushed my teeth this morning I learned that is the worst part!

By the way, did I mention that I hate it when doctors say general statements like, "Don't over-do it".  What does that mean?  Can we be exact?  Should I make dinner and do the dishes?  SHould I get a wheelchair?  Should I take naps?  Can you give me a list of do's and don'ts??

Anyway, thats all for now.  I just had to write because it hurts to talk still.

Merry Christmas!

OK, so maybe that's exaggerating a little bit, but boy the year goes quickly.  I feel like January thru March are so nice and relaxing, but then you blink and the year is gone.  April weekends are already full, May's are half-way there and we have 2 big things in June and July already planned.  Crazy...

A funny story.  Yesterday we went to church with my parents and afterwards went to lunch.  They brough along a man they had met at church and now give rides to occasionally.  Nice guy.  He played with KayLynn across the table for a long time.  Then...  KayLynn had crawled under the table to pick up everything that she had dropped.  John grabbed her foot trying to tease her and she lost it.  Bawling and when Tam picked her up and asked her what was wrong she sobbed (loud enough for many to hear) that he was trying to steal her!  So, daddy and I had to explain that because we were there, she was safe and that we would not let anyone steal her!  And that John, poor guy, was just trying to play with her.

She did get over it and was pretty sad to leave him behind that afternoon!  My kid...hilarious!

And, on a side note, aren't my new shoes cute?

Not as cute as my kid, I know, but cute!

Picnic Weather

Last Saturday we were able to go on a little picnic for lunch.  It was KayLynn's idea because she had just watched Curious George do that very thing!

I cut up all the fruit and veggies and K got to put them in plastic baggies and then into our picnic basket (wedding gift from Aunt Cece)

We even had time for a game of chase before we went home!

Its been a while...I know

Time flies...thats for sure.  I have lots to update (mostly because I want the record - not because I think you are dyeing for pictures of my adorable kid!)...but first let me start with some recent KayLynn~isms.

~She no longer says Bitar, now its just a plain old guitar!!

~Yesterday I teased her and said, "ok its time for nap - go to bed".  And she did.  She pulled her little purple chair up to her light, turned it off and went to bed.  And if that isn't horrible enough that night she informed me that she could go to bed by herself.  Anyone else know how horrible this feels?  My not-so-little-girl is now my big girl.

~This weekend:
K: Before I was in your tummy I got borned at the hop-ital (said with a little bounce in your voice while saying the hop part!), and then I got borned again!  I was baby Jack.
Me: No, you were baby KayLynn
K: Yep I was baby Jack and Aunt Mandy hold me in the hop-ital.  I cried.  But its ok, because babys just cry.

We had the Krulish girls over and had quite the weekend...
It was cold outside but I could only find 2 pairs of gloves, so Wren wore some socks!

sleepover in the living room complete with snacks and movies!

Pictures to come of this weekends drive and picnic!

Fun in the snow...

No, there is not snow at my house right now, these are late!!  Suprise suprise!
Building our snowman
Going down the slide...  Three times and then, "OK mom, lets get some hot chocolate"
So we did!
We make our own hot chocolate (the real stuff) but we have been making it sugar free and its not bad!  We always have to make several batches at home because KayLynn has hers with soymilk, I have mine with non-fat milk and guests have theirs with real milk and sugar!  And sometimes we add schnapps - but not with KayLynn!!

First Cadbury Egg

I personally think they are gross - but I do think everyone should try one!
